  Observation of a new species for Iran

A Grey Headed Lapwing was observed by Seyed Ali Jebeli on Saturday,January 4th, 2020, in Kish Island, Iran. This is the first time this species is recorded in Iran. By this record, the number of the birds of Iran reaches 554 species.

 

Grey Headed Lapwing breeds in East Asia and is a winter visitor in India, Nepal and Bangladesh. This bird's habitat is at the river banks, wet marshes and wet fields. Its behavior is similar to that of Red-Watteled Lapwing and they often feed together.
